Be a Host

📌 1. The SF Yogic Vegan Community invites compassionate individuals and families to join the global host network. Hosts welcome vegan travelers, support their journeys, and strengthen the international vegan community. Hosting can be voluntary or include modest, fair payments for meals and services, arranged directly between host and guest in line with local norms and laws.

📌 2. Hosting lets you represent your culture to travelers who value plant‑based living and yogic principles. By sharing local knowledge, resources, and hospitality, hosts make vegan travel practical and welcoming. Benefits include building cross‑cultural connections, promoting local vegan businesses and projects, helping travelers with practical information, and joining a community that upholds ethical, hygienic, and hosting standards.

📌 3. Hosts may assist travelers in one or more ways depending on interest, capacity, and local regulations: guiding visitors to freshly prepared vegan foods and reputable plant‑based eateries; recommending vegan‑friendly accommodations and, when lawful and feasible, offering lodging at your comfort level; providing relocation guidance for longer stays (neighborhood orientation and local services); coordinating or accompanying visits to animal sanctuaries, rescue centers, or ethical education sites; introducing travelers to local vegan businesses and entrepreneurs; connecting visitors with vegan activists, volunteer opportunities, and campaigns; helping travelers find local vegan communities, meetups, co‑ops, and study circles; and sharing information about local vegan events, workshops, and festivals and assisting with attendance when appropriate.

📌 4. To ensure safety, trust, and transparency, prospective hosts must complete a basic Know‑Your‑Customer (KYC) submission and provide verification documents. Submission does not guarantee acceptance; applications are reviewed for suitability, compliance with local laws, and alignment with community standards.

📌 5. Required documents (attach PDFs to your email): passport (scanned first and last pages); tax identification card or equivalent (as applicable); bank account details (account holder name, bank name, account number, routing/IFSC/SWIFT codes) to receive payments; and a recent bank statement (most recent month’s PDF) to confirm the account.

📌 6. If you opt to receive compensation for meals or services, payments will be made directly to your nominated bank account. SF Yogic Vegan Community facilitates introductions and standards but is not the primary employer; hosts are responsible for complying with local tax, labor, and business regulations. We recommend consulting local authorities if you expect regular payments.

📌 7. To apply, email membership@sudesh.org with a brief cover letter stating your interest, the city or region you can support, and the services you can provide; attach the KYC documents as PDFs; and include contact information and any references, community affiliations, or relevant hosting, vegan activism, hospitality, or volunteer experience.

📌 8. Onboarding typically includes document verification and contact checks; a short phone or video interview to discuss expectations, safety protocols, and scope of hosting; orientation materials covering community standards and guest‑screening basics; and listing approved hosts in our network for travelers seeking arrangements.
